Thomas Grünewald studied geography at the Universities of Regensburg (DE), Durham (UK) and Innsbruck (AT). For the last 10 years he has worked at the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF and at the Snow Centre Tyrol, where he researched various topics related to snow and climate. Among other things, he has dealt intensively with questions of resource management in ski resorts. Thomas Grünewald is the author of numerous relevant publications, e.g. on artificial snowmaking or snowfarming.

Also in his spare time Thomas likes to spend time in the snow and is often found on his skis. In the warm season he exchanges the boards for the bike or the mountain boots. As a professional bike guide, the bike was at times also his working tool.

Thomas Grünewald is married and lives together with his wife and four children in Klosters.

With Thomas Grünewald grischconsulta is able to expand its expertise in the areas of snow, climate, energy and resource use in mountain regions. Mr. Grünewald is responsible as project manager for these areas as well as for mandates related to mountain biking.
